CAKES, CAKES AND MORE CAKES

Those cake classes are finally paying off for Deb and Carrie.  Although, Scott says he doesn't think he can eat another bite.  Debbi made the wedding cake and Carrie did the grooms cake. Oh and did I say Samantha got them started when she started taking the cake classes. Anyway, I think we're covered for cakes for any occasion.Way to go girls everyone I've seen looks to good to eat.

OUR EMPTY NESTERS MONDAY NIGHT GROUP

This is our church family that we spend every Monday night with. We all meet at a restaurant at 6pm and than take turns meeting at one of our homes for a gospel lesson, game night or anything else that our host plans.  This is a very special group of people and it sure makes you feel right at home at church and in the community. We've known them since we moved here and many times run into them at Walmart or out  eating. My mother and dad joined the group a few months ago and everyone has been especially kind and sweet to them. Terry and dad can really get into the teasing. This particular week we had a wee one join us since her grandma and grandpa were babysitting.

GHOSTS AND GOBLINS

The bee and the beekeeper showed up at the Beverly's only to find some pretty scary folks getting together.  There was a spookfest going on so we joined in.  Debbi and Scott and their friends Melissa and David decided to throw a halloween party. The house  was decorated for the occasion and the food was great. Debbi's been deocorating in her head for a month and it looked great.  The fog in the front (grave)yard was spooky but inviting. Thanks Deb and Scott we had a great time.

GO COUGARS!!!! RAH RAH RAH

I was able to join some friends for the Brigham Young University/Texas Christian University football game.  Steven and Jane Roberts insisted that I come even though Jim was out of town.  What a fun time we had face painting (yes, even at 61), tailgate party complete with this guy, cheerleaders, alumni, and great hamburgers and hotdogs. The weather was perfect. In fact all was great and BYU was projected to win thats where the perfect ended. BYU was slaughtered.  Oh well, maybe next year. Hey, Tiffany, I thought about you all night.  Your team fun, fun, fun.

WEDDING BELLS WILL SOON BE RINGING

Debbi and Scott hosted a couples wedding shower for the newest couple in the family, Matt and Amy.  We are excited about Amy joining our family and were happy to meet her family at the shower. She had a surprise as her great grandma from near SanAntonio came. She was a very sweet lady.  As you can see in the pictures above we captured a 5 generation family picture of the ladies in Amy's family. We had a great time and Matt and Amy received some needed items. We got to enjoy another of Debbi's great cakes looked to match the invites. The wedding is only a few weeks off, November 8th. Best of wishes to you both, Matt and  Amy, Lexi, and Madison (the newest little grandchildren to add to the Jones clan).

ITS STILL SUMMER IN TAMPA

Julie and Richard wanted to take a 4 day week-end to Philadelphia so of course Richard just knew I was dying to see the kids.  Of course I was, so off I went to Florida to stay with them while they went on their trip.  We went to a fund raiser/spagetti dinner at the school Friday night. We bought raffle tickets for some of the gift baskets, but as luck would have it and to Spencers dismay we didn't win any of them.  It was fun though and the kids got to eat with their friends.  Even Dason went along for the fun. Saturday Spencer and Sydney had a birthday party for one of their old neighborhood chums.  Monday after school we headed for the community pool.  The weather is still beautiful and I even got in with them since they promised not to drown me.  Rick and Julie returned Monday night and I spent the next two days with them.  They introduced me to the best sub sandwiches in town.  Can't wait until they come for Christmas already.  When are they coming back to Texas to stay???

FALL AT THE DALLAS ARBORETUM

Our first taste of fall came to us by a visit to the Dallas Arboretum.  Even though its 90 degrees it really feels like fall here.  There are pumpkins everywhere and parents and kids enjoying the fall morning.  This particular day there are lots of activities for the kids. We took Scott and Samantha and the boys to meet Debbi and Brooklyn and Carrie, Presley and Sam. Our first stop was the face painting. This lady is amazing. She puts the kids at ease immediately and within seconds has their cute little faces looking ready for Halloween.  Everyone popped up on her chair, but Kaden and Lincoln weren't buying this activity. We finally talked them into little pumpkins on their arms which they proudly displayed.  Next we were off to the Kindermusic area where everyone jived to the music. Of course the arboretum wouldn't be fun without a stop at the frogs shooting water to play in . By the time we left everyone was soaked.  When we  left the park we headed to Fuddruckers Hamburger joint for wonderful, overpriced hamburgers.  Can't even imagine how many weight watchers points that cost me.  Oh well, all in the name of the grandchildren.
