I left on Thursday July 24th to go to Chicago to spend the day with Connie and her family. We had a family get together and Jessie brought her little one. Shes already a year old and I had not seen her. Shes a cutie. Of course aren't they all. We love those grandkids. Friday morning we left for our annual road trip to Columbus, Ohio for the Longaberger basket Convention. This year we decided to take the back roads thru Indiana shopping all the way. How could we have possibly have a car load before we even get to the convention. We arrived on Saturday morning at the Hyatt on Capitol Square. We checked in and headed over to the convention center. We were greeted by hoola hoopers, dancers and music putting us in the mood for the convention to start. I don't know why I don't sell these baskets since its my 13th or 14th convention. Its all about the week out having fun.On Tuesday we headed to the Homestead and Dresdan to shop. I guess I've been there too much, as not much went home with me. We ended up in Detroit to pick up George in the a.m. How were we to know that the special Olympics were in town and there wasn't a hotel to be found. At 11pm we finally found a room in Ann Arbor after about 30 calls. We were about ready to pull into a truck stop and sleep. E-gad. The next morning we picked up George and I got a car and headed to Midland to pick up the folks to drive them back to their home in Texas. A fun week and only 2 baskets went home with me.
