CELEBRATING MEMORIAL DAY AND BIRTHDAYS

My birthday happened to fall on Memorial Day this year so we celebrated Hawaiian style.  Since Bryce's birthday was three days ago we shared the day and the cake. Although we couldn't get him to put on the grass skirt. I think he thought we might blackmail him with the pictures to his friends.  Debbi and Jim were well prepared with grass skirts, leis, and a cake with an active volcano (thanks to the sparklers).  It created quite a fire with all those sparklers.  Made me want to head to the islands, but reality set in and we'll have to be satisfied with the pool and Lake Granbury.

Master barbequer was in full swing doing a pork loin with special sauce, chicken and sausage.  It was yummy.
Isn't the outfit great although I don't think I look like those girls from the Polynesian Culture Center. Something missing?? The day was all about swimming and boating. We were excited to have Vera Pyatt, a friend from North Richland Hills and the Floyds from McKinney join us.

It was a fun filled day and I think everyone had a great time. Summer is just beginning and we are hoping to see the rest of the family for the upcoming holidays. Gramps, Jim and I, also, spent one of the weekend days at the downtown days in Granbury and even were entertained at a piano recital that the Bishops family was in at the Langdon Center downtown.  And of course dinner at Babes to complete the day.
